In HoopsHIGH, Free Spirit Media's flagship program, high school participants do it all - operate cameras, announce the play-by-play, conduct sideline interviews, direct shots, and set-up and strike the equipment for each shoot. The student-produced games are telecast weekly on CAN TV Channel 19 in Chicago on Saturdays at 8pm. A diverse and enthusiastic audience of about 70,000 tunes in weekly to check out the exciting sports action and FSM student-produced PSAs, documentaries, and dramas. The youth producers develop as a solid production team, and their hard work is supported by After School Matters. Since 2000, HoopsHIGH has telecast over 300 games and featured championship caliber teams, including Westinghouse, Marshall, Crane, Farragut, Whitney Young, and North Lawndale College Prep.
